The Region

The nearby Rocky Mountain National Park offers stunning views and a variety of trails, while Grand Lake offers a wide range of water-based activities.
The Trails
With over 600 miles of trails right from the heart of downtown, there is something for everyone. Whether you like to bike or hike, or snowshoe or cross country ski you will never be bored! You will be able to access all of these trails right from Arrow! There is a wide range of terrain for beginners to hard core bikers and hikers!

The Slopes
Winter Park Resort opened in 1940 and has grown to be one of the top Ski Areas in Colorado! With over 3,000 skiable acres, 171 trails, 2 mountains and 7 different territories; Winter Park is sure to please the whole family!
The mountain initially consisted of one rope tow and now has one 10 person gondola, 23 lifts, and 1 rope tow. The Resort’s village features shops and restaurants, as well as events almost every weekend in both the winter and the summer. In the winter, enjoy après from the top of the mountain at Sunspot with live music.
On the way back down the mountain bask in the breathtaking views from the gondola overlooking the town of Winter Park and the Village. In the summer, enjoy the Alpine Slide, putt-putt golf and world class downhill mountain biking.
Not only does Winter Park have some of the highest snowfall average for Colorado, it is also known as the Mountain Bike Capital USA.
The FISHING
Arrow is located near 1,000 miles of streams, 1,000 acres of high mountain lakes, and 11,000 acres of reservoirs. Grand County offers some of the best mountain fishing opportunities, with trout and salmon being the most prized catches.
The County is home to a variety of fish species, including mackinaw and kokanee salmon, rainbow, brook, German brown, and cutthroat trout. It is an ideal location for the fishing enthusiasts to indulge in their passion.
The county has numerous shops, outfitters, guides and experienced anglers who are always ready to assist and prepare visitors for an unforgettable fishing experience.
The GOLF
Grand County, Colorado has several golf courses that all offer stunning views and challenging terrain for golfers of all skill levels.
Closest to Winter Park is Pole Creek Golf Club – This 27-hole golf course is located in Tabernash. It offers three different 9-hole courses, each with its own unique challenges and views. The Ridge 9 is among the local’s favorite due to it’s rolling terrain, while the Meadow 9, has expansive views of the Continental Divide throughout that is sure to distract your golf game!
Grand Elk Golf Club – Located in Granby, this is an 18-hole semi-private golf course. It features challenging bunkers and water hazards, as well as stunning views of the Fraser Valley.
Granby Ranch Golf Course – Also located in Granby, and tucked away off Highway 40, you will feel secluded in this serene setting overlooking the Fraser River.
Grand Lake Golf Course – Located in Grand Lake, this 18-hole golf course is the oldest in Grand County and an old time favorite.

THE SUMMER
Summer in Winter Park is a beautiful and exciting time of year. The town and surrounding areas offer endless opportunities for outdoor adventures, cultural events, and family-friendly fun.
Here are some of the top things to do in the summer in Winter Park:
Hiking in the nearby Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Forest. Enjoy hiking trails from easy walks to challenging climbs, as well as opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. World-class mountain biking trails, with a variety of trails for all skill levels, from easy family-friendly rides to challenging downhill courses.
Concerts and Events: There are a variety of concerts and events throughout the summer, including the Winter Park Jazz Festival and the Winter Park Blues Festival. There are also a variety of family-friendly events, including movies in the park and art festivals.
Don’t forget about the free Music in the Park every Thursday in the summer, bring dinner and bottle of wine and live like a local!
You won’t want to miss out on the surrounding lakes and rivers nearby, you can enjoy a variety of water activities, including fishing, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and rafting.
The WINTER
Filled with endless opportunities for outdoor recreation and winter sports; for skiing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter activities. Skiing is probably one of the most popular winter activities, with over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain and some of the best powder in Colorado. The resort features over 166 trails, 25 lifts, and six terrain parks.
Downhill skiing not your speed? Cross-country skiing is another popular option with over 70+ miles of groomed trails in the surrounding forests and valleys. With trails that offer stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and serene settings. Visitors can rent equipment and take lessons at the YMCA or Devils Thumb Nordic Center.
Want something a little more thrilling? Snowmobiling is a perfect way to explore the backcountry around Winter Park. With thousands of acres of open space, visitors can explore the snow-covered forests, valleys, and mountains on a guided tour or on their own. Just want to go for a stroll? Put on some snowshoes and explore the winter wonderland of Winter Park. Guided snowshoe tours are also available, offering visitors a chance to learn about the history and ecology of the area.

Music in the Park is a popular summertime event in Winter Park, with free concerts held in the Rendezvous Event Center/Hideaway Park Amphitheater on Thursday nights throughout the summer. Visitors can bring a picnic and enjoy live music from local and national artists, ranging from blues and jazz to rock and country.
Rendezvous Event Center/Hideaway Park also offers a great playground and skate park are perfect for families with children, offering a fun place for kids (and adults alike) to play and explore.
Don’t miss out on Wolf Park as well, where you can find tennis and pickle ball courts, basketball court, grass for yard games and of course a playground for the little ones.
